Air Distribution Manifolds or Headers and “Quality Discipline”

“It must be a standard on all our air distribution manifolds.”

That’s how Ram Naidoo summarises Fluidline’s philosophy when supplying air header manifold solutions  – a philosophy rooted in quality discipline, traceability, and absolute reliability.

Air distribution headers play a critical role in instrumentation and process environments, where they distribute air, gases, liquids, or steam from a single inlet to multiple outlets. These assemblies are commonly used where multiple lines must be supplied simultaneously with controlled and dependable flow. They form the backbone of distribution systems. This is a a disciplined process. Not just fabrication

Air headers are manufactured to the customers specification

When a client requests an air header manifold from Fluidline, the process begins long before fabrication.
Pressure ratings, materials, and valve types are all selected based on operating requirements.

1. Design and configuration

  • A certified drawing is prepared for the required solution
  • Alternatively, Fluidline’s in-house configuration library assists with selecting a suitable design
  • Once agreed, a Quality Control Plan (QCP) is issued

This ensures every requirement is documented and approved before manufacturing begins.

2. Traceability from material to manufacturing

Before fabrication:

  • Raw material certification is verified
  • Stainless steel grades (316 standard) are selected per application requirements
  • Welder qualifications and procedures are confirmed
  • Order logging and design approval are completed

3. Certified Testing

Certified testing is done before any air manifold  leaves our Facility.

Before delivery:

  • Each manifold undergoes an in-house pressure test
  • Optional NDT testing performed to specification
  • Valves assembled and tested as a complete unit when required

This ensures Air header manifolds are installation-ready – with no field rework required.

Fluidline Fabrication Standards

As Ram emphasises, “The correct procedure, material & valve certification, including the pressure test certificate, is critical in delivering a best-quality product where leaks are simply not an option. This architecture supports reliable distribution across instrumentation networks and process lines.”

Fluidline’s differentiation lies in disciplined execution of the following standards:

  • Engineering-led design approval
  • Documented quality planning
  • Certified materials and weld procedures
  • In-house testing and validation
  • Installation-ready delivery

This ensures customers receive not just a manifold but a dependable system component built to perform for the life of the installation.
